Why would you be selling tickets to a Jazz Concert and not telling us who the line up is.

Wow what a great show, Jack Johnson will not disappoint! He sounds as great live as he does on albums which a lot of artists cannot say. His friend Paula from Hawaii had an incredible voice as well. The cinematography displayed on the screens behind him was very artistic and added to the experience. I liked that he had free Brita water purifier stations so you could refill your bottle of water for free instead of buying additional plastic bottles which are environmentally harmful (they're also very expensive at these venues). The whole experience was great, and he played every single song on my list of things I'd hoped to hear. I had just had surgery 2 days before this show and this was the perfect mellow show to go to after something like that, with everyone sitting calmly on their blankets singing along and swaying to the rhythm. One of the best shows I've been to ever, for sure the best I've been to in the last 5 years. Collapse

Well you have all seemed to out-do yourselves. That was an unexpected twist on original Shakesspear. It was a joy to meet the cast members afterwards. One of my friend and I's particularly 'favorite' characters, was Logan Bennett.(Better known as a hippie) We look forward to seeing him next year too. Does he have a Facebook or anyway that we can keep in touch with him? Don't doubt about seeing us next year, you know we would come out to see another great performance. Thanks for the show!! Love, Grier Wooddell & Stephanie Pittman. We love you Logan Bennett! You are an amazing actor!! Collapse

What a great cast director Chris Barnhart has assembled for this family comedy. It is a real joy watching these experienced actors at work. I highly recommend this show.

...you must go see the Reduced performance. Honestly, while I find most Shakespeare an interesting read (skimming for the best parts), I get sleepy at the plays. A friend and I went to tonight's show at the Wells Theater between Granby and Monticello; it was the highlight of my week. It's now one of my top two most favorite comedic shows, ever! While a bit PG13 in places, it's a great way to introduce your kids to Shakespeare. They'll run right home and do Google and Wikipedia searches as they develop a love for the bard. Good times! Thanks to VA Arts Festival for bringing this show to Norfolk. Collapse

An Open House usually means "no admission" as it is a venue to interest possible new members or artists. Next time perhaps.

We really got to experience the sadness of slavery. I liked to learn the experience of Frederick Douglass as a little boy. We loved how you made the sets and illustrations. The story showed the suffering of people with dyslexia. We all liked the songs. We loved how the puppets moved. It was amazing that only 3 people put the whole play together on stage. I liked how the little Frederick puppet knew how to read at the end. We all liked the pop-up scenery. We liked that the mind puppet was destroyed who had negative thoughts. We really enjoyed the 4-5 types of puppets, the shadow puppet, rod puppet, reflective shadow puppet, the wooden marionette, and the traditional Thai shadow dog puppets. I liked how Peter was related to Frederick Douglass, that they both struggled to read. I liked the book puppet which moved around and acted scary to Marta when she was scared to read English. The actors were magnificent. They improvised so well when the book fell. It was an awesome play! Thank you! Collapse

Over all the cast performed well, and did a fine job of drawing me into the story. I could comment favorably on each ones performance. However, in the interest of space, I'll limit it to two characters that stood out among the others. Although a secondary character, Cora's portrayal of Lydia was a welcome interruption to the serious issues at hand. Without a hint of overacting she had the knack of making me giggle every time she came on stage and in a play this heavy, it's nice to have a few giggles. The other bright spot was Alex's portrayal of George. Between being haunted by his own rejection of his father and his anger with Joe, George is a complete emotional mess. Alex handled this emotionally charged character with great success and transitioned well between angry and nostalgic George. Good job to all and I look forward to seeing Alex and Cora again. Collapse

"All My Sons" is another feather in LTVB's cap. Nancy Bloom did a great job directing an emotionally draining play, and the entire company was amazing and perfectly cast in their roles. Though it was first performed years ago, the play is timeless. Some audience members should have been advised not only to turn off their cell phones, but also to stifle their candy wrappers! Bravo to the cast for soldiering on Sunday afternoon. But I have come to expect only excellence at LTVB...and I get it! Collapse
