Last spring I saw Theatrix production of "Thoroughly Modern Millie". I must say I was very impressed by the sets, costumes and most of all the performances. This young cast was made up of some of the best talent I have seen in community theater. I look forward to their upcoming production of "It's a Wonderful Life". Collapse

This past summer I saw Theatrix's production of Children of Eden. The cast was incredible and very talented. The opening of he show was beautiful and the opening of the second act was an exciting tribal dance! I moved to the area 5 years ago and have been to several youth, community and professional productions. This show with the costumes, set and lighting was the most professional looking I have seen for any youth or community theatre in the area. I would definitely recommend any upcoming productions. My family and I went to the theater expecting to see a little "community" production. We were completely blown away by the masterful direction and stage presence of the entire cast! The lighting which was designed and controlled by Mr. Mike Hilton was the best I have ever seen in theater. The people of Virginia Beach and the surrounding Hampton Roads area should be excited and privileged to be able to count Theatrix Productions as a resident theater company. My family and all our friends will be enjoying the next great production, "It's a Wonderful Life" in December. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the Holiday Season!! Collapse

I went to this play expecting it to be a dated history play, and instead I saw a very relevant play on the dangers of power! Based on an actual encounter between Nixon and Kissinger on the night before Nixon resigns, the playwright has run with the premise and pushed it to what may at first appear to be absurdity- but then you stop and look at what has happened in this country in the past 8 years and you realize its all too relevant! The Acting is perfect! They take their characters to the edge, but still make them believable. I am no Nixon fan and yet I felt for this man and his fall. Beautifully acted and directed- a stellar production. What a spectacular evening of great music! The Virginia Chorale opened its first concert of the season with the music of Bach, Handel and other Baroque composers! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening of music but what was most interesting was the pre-concert talk by Scott Williamson. Sometimes these talks are a little cerebral but he really made the music easy to comprehend and gave us lots of interesting tidbits. We look forward to more concerts by the Chorale! Collapse

This was by far, the best production of Children of Eden I have seen. The cast was incredible and very talented. The young man that played "Father" had a beautiful and commanding voice. Another favorite of mine was the young lady that played Mama Noah and really got the place rockin'! The opening of he show was beautiful and the opening of the second act was an exciting tribal dance! The set and lighting was the most professional looking I have seen for any youth or community theatre in the area. I will be looking for more great things from Theatrix Productions. I highly recommend anyone who loves live theatre (and anyone who thinks they don't) catch the next show that Theatrix productions does. I think they are doing "It's a Wonderful Life" the musical this December. I'm getting my tickets soon!! Collapse
