Rembrandt's Etchings: The Embrace of Darkness and Light
May 15-August 17, 2008
Rembrandt achieved unparalleled fame as a printmaker and is hailed today as one of the greatest etchers of all time. Drawn from the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the exhibition includes more than 130 of the master's etchings, and traces Rembrandt's career as a printmaker from the drama and technical razzle-dazzle of his early productions to the quiet mystery and poetry of his final works.
