The "Crooked Road" is Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, winding through the mountains of southwest Virginia, where bluegrass and traditional country music have echoed in the hills and hollows for generations. The artists of the Crooked Road Project-balladeer Elizabeth LaPrelle, guitarist and guitar maker Wayne Henderson, lightning-fast banjo picker Sammy Shelor, fiddler and banjo players Kirk Sutphin and Eddie Bond, the Whitetop Mountain Band, and Amber Collins and No Speed Limit-are the descendants and keepers of hundreds of years of musical tradition.
