John V. Quarstein Book Signing
July 26, 2008
The Beach Gallery will host a book signing featuring Hampton City Historian, John V. Quarstein. He will be signing Fort Monroe, History of Ironclads and The Civil War on the Virginia Peninsula. Mr. Quarstein is an award winning historian, preservationist and author. He has served as director of the Virginia War Museum, curator of various Newport New historical properties, and historical advisor for The Mariners Museum's U.S.S. Monitor Center project.

Blue Skies Gallery is my favorite place to browse for art -- to buy or just to enjoy looking. They have many artists, almost all local, and in many different media. To me this gallery is like a smorgasbord for the eyes. I'm especially partial to watercolor painting, and there are several wonderful watercolorists at Blue Skies. And the tactile aspect of pottery and fiber art adds to the visual experience of these type pieces. Lots to enjoy here! Collapse

Blue Skies is a local treasure -- art to suit anyone's taste. So much of the art is area-inspired, from unique bowls and vases made of Virginian 'salvage wood', to stunning oil bayscapes. Why buy... Expand
