    On Thursday, discusses the antebellum, Civil War and Reconstruction periods in the history of Portsmouth and the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The exhibit will focus on one of the most turbulent eras in American history-the Civil War. Learn about historical events preceding the war, the conflict's effect on the city and shipyard and how the area readjusted in the years that followed. On Friday come celebrate the opening of Resistance and Reunion with activities including schools of the Civil War soldier and sailor, hands-on activities and make-and-takes. Also come and talk with NOAA about the USS Monitor!
