It is the night before President Nixon is to announce his resignation, and he has summoned Henry Kissinger. Nixon is willing to concoct any twisted plot to stay in office. Kissinger wants him to go. As the two of them discuss options, they revisit the climatic events of their administration and impersonate a dazzling array of characters from Breshnev and Mao to Kennedy. This timely political satire features outrageous comedy and a frightening look at the inside of Presidential politics.

I went to this play expecting it to be a dated history play, and instead I saw a very relevant play on the dangers of power! Based on an actual encounter between Nixon and Kissinger on the night before Nixon resigns, the playwright has run with the premise and pushed it to what may at first appear to be absurdity- but then you stop and look at what has happened in this country in the past 8 years and you realize its all too relevant! The Acting is perfect! They take their characters to the edge, but still make them believable. I am no Nixon fan and yet I felt for this man and his fall. Beautifully acted and directed- a stellar production. My husband and I had the great pleasure of attending the opening-night performance of Nixon's Nixon at the Kimball Theatre in Williamsburg this past Friday evening. Oh my, it was absolutely wonderful. The entire cast consists of two fabulous, professional actors from New York who take on their roles as if they ARE Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger -- It is actually difficult to imagine any other actors playing these roles. And the comedy comes fast and furious -- the one liners, the hysterically funny role playing, the near slapstick. Everyone (regardless of political party) was thoroughly entertained, evidenced by the laughter throughout the performance. The play ended with a well-deserved standing ovation!! Collapse

Although I expected this would be a slam against Nixon and the republican party, it was anything but. It was a peek into the humanity of a man that had reached the zenith of leadership in politics in America and was faced with losing it all. The story is funny and said at the same time. The actors timing of lines is perfect. It is a nonstop, 100 mile an hour trip into one of the most difficult times in "modern presidency". This a must see play. Collapse

My wife and I saw the show Nixon's Nixon Friday night at the Kimball Theatre. It captured our interest, attention and we found ourselves laughing at times and overwhelmed at other times at the American theatrical stage we call "politics". We recommend the show to everyone looking for a fun evening provided by high quality New York stage actors right here in our own backyard. Collapse

I attended the opening night production of Russell Lees play Nixon's Nixon which is playing at the Kimball Theatre and the Williamsburg Libary Theatre. I walked into the theatre, the set was like the press room at The White House. Early 70's music was playing throughout the theatre but it was made to seem like a transitor radio. It really brought the essence of the era to life. The actors appeared on stage and came to life as Nixon and Kissinger. David Carson and Jeff Farber (New York Equity actors) brought the essence of their characters to life. I felt that I was just a fly on the wall watching history or how Russell Lees preceived the possiblity of history portrayed. The play goes fast. All sorts of polictical characters of that time popped up during the performance. I do not want to ruin it for anyone but I laughed and laughed and laughed. Thank you for a wonderful night of live professional theatre. Collapse
