The Yorktown Chorale was founded in January 1994 to provide an opportunity for singers to perform classical and popular choral works in their original style. The Chorale is an outgrowth of the chorus formed for the Yorktown Tri-Centennial Celebration. Members come to the Yorktown Chorale from a wide variety of backgrounds and locations. They range in age from high school students to retirees and vary in experience from school and church choirs to opera. Many of them travel only a few miles to rehearsal, while others commute from Williamsburg and Gloucester. They all share a love of music and an interest in developing our vocal skills.
